Simulation Cricket Authority: Sitepoint.com vs Zcultfm.com - Only Twenty20 InternationalSitepoint.com vs Zcultfm.com Only Twenty20 International
Simulation cricket experienced its first Twenty20 International tonight, in a thrilling encounter between Sitepoint.com and Zcultfm.com, who incidentally was led by wicket keeper Zog, in an unexpected twist.
Being sent in to bat, Sitepoint.com, like their competitors, had no prior Twenty20 experience, so every player was going solely off instinct.
The Sitepoint.com openers certainly had the right instinct, with the opening partnership lasting the best part of 10 overs, half the total allocation in this short format. Over 70 runs had been scored, by the time DigitaL departed for 37.
The Zcultfm.com failed to make any further impact in the Sitepoint.com innings, but this is to be expected in Twenty20 matches, which are very much batter-friendly.
Sitepoint.com ended on 1/172 after their 20 overs, with SlitheryImp by far the most successful batsman, falling just 4 runs from Twenty20's first century. Nicky was the other not out batsman, with 39. KingScott, the Zcultfm.com number three batsman, was the only wicket taker, who ended with figures of 1/7 from his over.
Aussie500 was the most expensive bowler, with 72 runs scored from his 7 overs. KingTigerII and Ace were largely under used, with just 6 overs bowled between them.
Requiring 8.65 an over, Zcultfm.com got off to the same start as Sitepoint.com; a very good one.
Beef made a 21 run impact before departing in the 6th over, and Finnie and KingScott took it from there. Smashing fours and sixes all over the ground, at 1/144 with and requiring 7 an over with 4 overs to go, each team could smell victory.
But victory celebrations were put on hold in the beginning of the 18th over, as Finnie celebrated his century, after smashing a huge six. The first century infact, in Twenty20's short history.
After several more boundaries were scored, Zcultfm.com managed to get over the line, finishing with 1/174 after 18.3 overs. fisherboy was the only wicket taker, but it was not a good day for the Sitepoint.com bowlers, with no single bowler having an economy under 8.
Finnie just pipped SlitheryImp for the man of the match award, in what turned out to be a highly competitive battle.
The 1st ODI will be played on November 30. |
